Hey guys! Red Bull is putting together a phenomenal event where automobile culture meets musical science. They are looking for 100 cars (show quality) with top notch sound systems to use for their car orchestra event on October 15th. They will compensate all participants but ask that you be available on both October 14th and 15th for both festivities and logistics. If you or someone you know would be interested, please shoot us an email at Automobileuploads@gmail.com by October 1st, 2017.
For your convenience, we’ve included more info on the event below.
Ryoji Ikeda’s A [for 100 cars] – RBMA L.A.
The renowned audiovisual artist presents the world’s largest synth orchestra.
As part of Red Bull Music Academy Festival Los Angeles, renowned artist Ryoji Ikeda will present a brand-new composition, in collaboration with 100 automobile owners, that constitutes the world’s largest synth orchestra. The piece, entitled A [for 100 cars] will continue Ikeda’s long-running series investigating the frequencies of note A. Before the world settled on the general tuning standard of A=440Hz, there were historically many different standards. A [for 100 cars], performed by emitting sine waves at all these diverse (yet specific) frequencies, will create an immersive soundscape. RBMA’s Tatsuya Takahashi will work with Ikeda to create a device, especially for this performance, that will help guide the composition from start to finish.
Doors will open at 3:00 PM, and attendees are encouraged to come early to enjoy the impressive installation of 100 cars, vehicles which will be hand-selected for their incredible soundsystems. The performance will begin promptly at 5:30 PM with a final seating at 5:15 PM.
