Len from AutoMobile Uploads purchased his Mustang GT bone stock in 2005. Less than a week later the modifications began. Since then, his GT has been through numerous transformations to obtain the most RWHP while remaining a “Street” car. We’ve been able to drive his car to and from the race track while posting 7 second 1/8th mile times.
Actually the 7.11 second 1/8th mile at Irwindale has been both the gift and the curse. Len’s car didn’t have a roll cage installed at the time and was kicked off of the track until he had one put in. He decided he’d kill two birds with one stone and sent his car to the shop for a custom roll cage install, while his tuner changed out his cams for boost cams and made some transmission adjustments. Unfortunately while the car was on the dyno, the engine threw a rod (The curse). Essentially, the car now needs a new block and will need to be rebuilt from the ground up, which means much more $$$. BUT, on the bright side, we have the opportunity to take the time to build a stronger motor and develop our goals moving forward for next year (The Gift).
The plan is to build a 750-800 rwhp Mustang GT that will run a 9 second quarter mile without Nitrous. This car should also have the ability to be driven to and from the track with no trailers etc.
We also have made plans to improve upon the cosmetics and acquire sponsorships etc., with intent to show the car as the AutoMobile Uploads Mustang next year. The list of shows will be announced closer to date, but our main goal is to secure a spot at the SEMA show next Fall.
